Word Search is a free word search puzzle game for Android. Each level gives you a grid of letters and a short list of hidden words. Find them all to clear the board, earn coins and move on to the next level.

Read the word list at the top of the screen, then find one of the words in the letter grid. Press and drag across its letters in a straight line: a correct word lights up in its own color and fades on the list. Find every word to complete the level. The How to Play section above shows each step.

Yes. Words run across, down or diagonally from the very first level, and later levels also hide words backwards. As you drag, your selection snaps to the nearest straight line.

Yes. Word Search is free to download from Google Play and free to play. It is supported by ads from Google AdMob: a banner on some screens, a full-screen ad after every third completed level, and optional reward videos you can choose to watch for extra coins. Yes. Every puzzle is generated on your phone, so you can keep playing without an internet connection. Ads, including the optional reward videos, need a connection to load.

Yes. The Try a Puzzle section on this page has a playable 8×8 board, built the same way as the game's early levels. Drag across the letters, or tap the first and last letter of a word.

There are 2,400 levels. Levels 1–60 are Easy, 61–180 are Medium, 181–420 are Hard, and the rest are Expert.

Boards grow from 8×8 to 15×15, and the number of hidden words rises from 4 to 14. The first levels use only a handful of filler letters so the words stand out, which makes the game easy to pick up for beginners, adults and seniors alike; by level 60 the filler uses the whole alphabet. Difficulty only ever moves forward, one small step at a time.

Puzzles draw on more than 20,000 English words, covering everyday vocabulary and topics such as animals, food, sports, science and space. Each level brings a fresh mix, and no word appears twice on the same board.

The Daily Challenge is a set of ten new word search puzzles every day. They start with an easy 8×8 board and build up to a 15×15 grid, following the same easy-to-hard climb as the main levels, and each one you complete earns coins.

Finish at least one Daily Challenge puzzle on consecutive days to build a streak; missing a day resets it. Keep it going for 7 days to unlock the Week Warrior award, or for 30 days to unlock Unstoppable.

Tap the hint button to ring the next letter of a word you haven't found yet. Each hint costs 15 coins, and you can use as many as you can afford. If you can't afford one, you can watch an optional reward video to earn coins.

You start with 50 coins and earn more by completing levels, with harder levels paying more. Unlocking awards adds bonus coins, and you can also watch an optional reward video from the home screen for extra coins.

There are eight awards: First Find, Getting Started, Word Hunter and Centurion for completing 1, 10, 50 and 100 levels; No Help Needed for winning without a hint; Speed Demon for finishing a puzzle in under a minute; and Week Warrior and Unstoppable for 7-day and 30-day daily streaks. Each award pays out bonus coins.

The Statistics screen shows how many levels you've completed, your highest level, your best and average solve times, and how many hints you've used. The Best Times screen ranks your fastest levels on a podium.

No. A clock records how long each level takes, for your statistics and Best Times, and finishing faster adds a bonus to your score, but you can take as long as you need.

If you switch apps or take a call, the game pauses the clock and saves the level, so you can carry on where you left off. Leaving a level with the back button asks you to confirm first, because your progress on that level may be lost.

Yes. Once you find a word, a speaker icon appears next to it in the word list. Tap it to hear the word read aloud by your device's built-in text-to-speech.

Your progress, coins, awards and statistics are saved on your device. To start over, open Settings and choose Reset Game, which permanently erases your progress, coins and statistics.
